Explorations into the nuances of machine, human, and environmental interactions. I am interested in developing machines that exhibit behaviors based on perceptual and cognitive acuity. They are abstractions of natural and biological systems coupled with communication structures. Much work has been done in the field of behavioral sciences and robotics to emulate the biological in machine architecture. My work is the reversal, applying technological adaptations of biological systems as models for computation methods. The works are centrally themed on how biology is utilized for behavioral models in robotics; do these behaviors retain their bio-functionality in synthesized environments as they do in nature? Are these behaviors really evolutionary adaptations or just expressions of what biology has been doing all along?
